Jupiter mahadasha: did it actually feel lucky?

Sixteen years of the "great benefic", and the books promise growth, teachers, children, wisdom, money.
People who have lived through one tend to tell a quieter story. More like: things stopped being quite so hard, someone older took an interest, a door opened that you didn't knock on.
If you're in one or finished one, what did Jupiter actually bring you? And was there a part of it that felt like too much of a good thing?
