Why your day is cut into sixteen pieces

@cosmynCosmyn team · 15 October 2026

Choghadiya splits the day (sunrise to sunset) into eight parts and the night into eight more. Each part gets one of seven qualities, and the order shifts with the weekday.

Three are good for starting things: Amrit (nectar), Shubh (blessed) and Labh (gain). Char (on the move) is fine for travel. Udveg, Rog and Kaal are best kept for routine work.

The Today screen shows these as a strip with the golden ones highlighted, so you don't have to work them out. People use them for small decisions: when to send the difficult email, when to sign, when to start a trip.

It's a nudge for timing, not a rule. If the only time you can do something is a Kaal slot, do it anyway.
